Short Introduction

Last summer, for the first time in the capital of Czech Republic has been started an interesting project Lavka River Stage. On a stage set on water by the club Lavka and Karlov Bridge during the whole month there were dancers, opera singers, musicians and other creative people unusual for this place performing on the stage.
Taking into account the huge success, the organizers decided to repeat the action this year.
So the magical evenings on the Lavka River Stage will attract the spectators again the whole August.
Those who last year took the opportunity to visit Lavka, met a surprise in the form of non-traditional cultural experience. In this year the public will be given further opportunities to spend an interesting evening with various additional pleasures - from classical ballet, through street theater, opera up to the light show.
In August, there were planned as a total of 14 scheduled performances on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 8.30 to 10 in the evening.
The visitors could have heard the world-famous opera arias performed by Marketa Matlova and Petra Notova soloists of the State Opera.
The program has also been more entertaining for the public as a group of State Ballet Conservatory of capital of Bohemia showed their earlier dance numbers adding a new ballet Gayane on the music of Aram Khachaturian and Sylphs on the music of Frederic Chopin.
The women string trio String Ladies pleased those spectators who are attracted by non-traditional mix of contemporary and classical music.
In order to show the audience something completely original, not just dancing music and singing, the street theater actors demonstrated their artistic skills. Among them is worth mentioning ATI, a juggler from Cirque Garuda. ATI, with his fire show, hypnotic juggling in his unique number Cube Act, Brothers in T-shirts and Long Vehicle Circus, who took the floor on stilts combine mime, clowning and acrobatics.
Evenings of this small festival of Arts as well as last year ended with light projections using a new technology called mapping.
To the delight of visitors located above the floating stage, club Lavka as usual provided specialties of local, international and Mediterranean cuisine.
The location of open air restaurant at a height of about three meters above the floating stage, where seated the spectators who came to the festival with tickets, the most convenient both for audiences and artists.
It is remarkable that the performances can be seen from the Karlov Bridge but it was completely free of charge for many tourists and local residents.
