Soprano Petra Notovo studied singing at the Conservatory in Koshice under Dagmar Lukatscova (1990-95) and at the College of Music in Bratislava under Professor Viktória Stracenska (1995-2000). She has received several awards from international singing competitions. For the opera of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava she studied Mozart's roles of Pamina and Papagena (the Magic Flute), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), the main role of Alcina in Händl's opera of the same name, Clorinda in Rossini's Cinderella and Maria in Donizetti's opera Daughter of the Regiment. From the repertoire of romantic operas, she has played the roles of Musetta (Puccini: La Bohéme), Sophie (Massenet: Werther), Oscar (Verdi:Masquerade) and Frasquita (Bizet: Carmen). In the Prague National Theatre she studied for, among others, the role of Felicia (Ph.Glass: Beauty and the Beast) in the successful performance of the Forman brothers, Mozart´s Susan (The Wedding of Figaro), Servilia (La Clemenza di Tito) and Zerlina, Norina (Donizetti: Don Pasquale) and Lenio (Martinů: Greek Passion). She worked here as a soloist in 2006-08. The concert repertoire of Petra Nôtová includes soprano parts in Bach's Passion of St. Matthew, Händl's Messiah, Mozart's Coronation Mass and Agnus Dei, and songs from the works of W. A. Mozart, F. Poulenc, A. Dvořák, J. Brahms and others. Y.P.: Are you a constant participant of the festival, Petra? P.N.: Yes, this festival is the second year and I also took part in it last year. I like the festival. Y.P: Could you tell us about your musical background? P.N.: I am from Slovakia where I studied at the Conservatory and the college of Music. I have performed on different stages among them the Slovak National Theatre, the Prague National Theatre, Prague State Opera. Y.P.: What are your future plans? P.N.: I have some engagements. I am going to perform, to give concerts. Y.P.: In other countries as well? P.N.: Yes, in some time, possibly, in other countries. Y.P.: Thank you Petra. Good luck! |
